Icefall of Vadret da Morteratsch (the so-called "Labyrinth", upper right) seen from Boval hut. Due to the thinning of the glacier rock outcrops have become much larger in the icefall. In addition the ice surface has sunk in the lower part of Vadret da Morteratsch, so the lateral moraines now appear taller (photos Joachim Wolff).
