Tasman Glacier aerial photos 2008

Upglacier view of Hochstetter Glacier (left) showing how it almost truncates the main flow unit of Tasman Glacier. The prominent arcuate debris ridge across the middle of the photograph respresents the limit of the 1991 rockfall that originated from the summit of Aoraki/Mount Cook (April 2008). Since then, the debris has been transported a further few hundred metres downglacier.
