Glaciers on Ruapehu volcano

Aerial view of Te Heuheu Peak that forms the rim of a now inactive crater filled with tephra-covered glacier ice; this formerly flowed out to join Whangaehu Glacier in the right foreground, but recent measurements indicate little discharge from the crater. The Mangatoetoenui Glacier is at the top right.
