Hand coloured, historical postcard from around 1900 (??) and repeat photo from 2012. In the old photo the tongue is still nearly at the Little Ice Age maximum. The trees in the foreground are outside the area glacierized during the Little Ice Age. They have grown considerably as a result of increasing temperatures. These are probably caused by the general climate change as well as the locally reduced effect of cold wind descending from the glacier.
