Luke Barr was born on December 4, 1968. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Switzerland. For many years he was the features editor at Travel + Leisure magazine. His first published book was the New York Times bestselling "Provence," 1970, for which he received the James Beard Foundation Award, 1970. "Ritz & Escoffier" is his second book.
He now lives in Brooklyn with his wife, architect Yumi Moriwaki, and their two daughters. August 4, 2023
