View from Eggishorn (2926.7m): Grosser Aletschgletscher (foreground), Mittelaletschgletscher (centre) and Aletschhorn (4193m). In 1900 Mittelaletschgletscher was a tributary of Grosser Aletschgletscher; in 2004 there is a 1 kilometre long gap between the two. The cirque glaciers on Geisshorn (3740m, upper left) and on Kleines Dreieckhorn (3639m, top right) have also receded considerably.
