Santorini

Two major mountains on Santorini, Profitis Elias (565m) and Mésa Vounó (369m, site of an ancient Dorian city) consist of mesozoic limestone and marble. They are small remnants of an ancient mountain range.

Marble is mined on the north side of Profitis Elias.
