Nördlinger Ries impact structure

	«	Very different, but interesting, was the theory of Carl Deffner (upper right) and Ernst Koken (lower right) in the 19th century: They assumed that glaciers descended from a mountain and formed the scratch marks, or striae, on bedrock found in many places around the Nördlinger Ries (left).
