Nördlinger Ries impact structure

	«	Finally, in 1960 Eugene Shoemaker and Edward Chao found the minerals Stishovit and Coesit in the Nördlinger Ries. Both are modifications of quartz formed only at very high pressure. This, finally, was the proof that indeed a meteor impact had caused the Nördlinger Ries. The investigations had been within the context of lunar landings.	»
