		Oblique space view of Nördlinger Ries: Today the crater wall rises a few dozen metres only above the central plain. It can be recognized by its forest cover. As the hilly terrain of the crater wall was less suitable for agricultural use, most of the forest was not cleared away. How did scientists of different times explain the formation of the crater?	»
