What's it about?

These lessons introduce students to the analysis of propaganda posters of the First World War. The goal is to make students realise that propaganda posters contain a wealth of information about the political, economic, social and cultural situation in a particular society, which can only be reconstructed if the posters are placed in the respective context. Students analyse a particular poster in groups but then also discuss their findings with the rest of the class.
