P-forms

(or plastically moulded forms) Smooth rounded forms of various types cut into bedrock by the combined erosive power of ice, meltwater and subglacial sediment under high pressure.

P-forms carved by ice abrasion and subglacial meltwater during the last glaciation (10,000 years ago) at Loch Treig, Grampian Highlands, Scotland. Photo M. J. Hambrey.
